Blood & bodily fluids <br />2. Sharps <br />3. Isolation waste <br />4. Pharmaceutical waste, estimated monthly amount is 5pounds. Types of Pharmaceutical waste <br />is as follows: <br />• Discontinued medications <br />• Expired Medications <br />• Wasted medications <br />All biohazardous waste as described above is stored in a locked room inside cinder block storage <br />building; the room has a locking metal door that is labeled biohazardous material. All biohazard waste <br />is placed in red biohazard bags and then taken to the medical waste room by housekeeping personnel, <br />sharps containers are placed in a red biohazard bags and transported to the medical waste room and <br />placed in 40gallon grey barrels with red liner labeled infectious waste provided by hauler. <br />Pharmaceutical waste is placed in pharmaceutical waste containers & transported to locked room by <br />maintenance supervisor and stored near 40 gallon grey barrels (they are not bagged).
