• D. Clerical. Duties <br /> 1 . Indicate the date isolation was terminated on nursing rang . <br /> 2 . Remove isolation tape from chart cover . <br /> E. Charting <br /> Chart the date, time and by whom isolation was terminated <br /> CARE OF BODY AFTER DEATH <br /> A. Prepare body as outlined in the Nursing Care procedure manual <br /> under Post Mortum Care . <br /> B. Notify mortuary of the type of infection or communicalbe disease . <br /> C. Clean Isolation Room- see section for proper procedure . <br /> EMPLOYEE HEALTH PROGRAM <br /> Infection control program will be coordinated with personnel health <br /> services program . Employees who have direct contact with the patient <br /> in isolation must be kept under survillance . All employees will be <br /> kept aware of the infection control program through inservice education. <br /> The infection ccrntrol committee will provide assistance in developing <br /> the skilled nursing facility personnel health programs . <br /> Employee health program shall include : <br /> 1 . A pre-employment physical examination , within seven ( 7 ) days <br /> after employment . <br /> 2 . Yearly re=examination for personnel as required by Title 22 <br /> 3 . A routine illness-reporting procedure for employees <br /> a . Call in ill <br /> b. Medical Doctor statement-employee able to return to work. <br /> 4 . Procedure- employees exposed to infectious diseases . <br /> a . Report to Medical doctor upon exposure <br /> b. Tests and treatments as necessary <br /> C . Off schedule until cleared by Medical Doctor . <br /> 5 . Prodedure for care of employee who stick themselves with <br /> contaminated needle . A report to Nurse in charge, immediately, <br /> as prompt action may be required. <br /> a. Wash area with disinfectant . <br /> b. - Report to Medical Doctor for futher treatment . <br /> The infection control committee shall review health service policies . <br /> The health service requirement of all requlatory agencies shall be <br /> reviewed, and standards shall be set in regard to what is considered <br /> good medical practice . <br /> The employees health service policy shall be explained to each new <br /> employee and strictly enforced. Employees shall be informed of their <br /> responsibility in reporting any illness they insure . <br /> Supervisor shall report all illness of -their staff . Medical records <br /> shall be kept on all employees from date of hire . <br />
