Described in detail the method of medical waste segregation, containment or packaging, labeling, and collection <br />procedures used in your facility. <br />All sharps go into sharps containers; all other bio -hazardous waste goes into red bags. <br />2. Describe the medical waste storage methods employed by your facility, including duration and temperature <br />controls, enclosure area, signs if applicable. <br />Red bags are picked up nightly by Housekeeping personnel and put into BFI containers located in a <br />covered fenced off section of our parking lot. Sharp containers are put there also, but only after <br />container has reached its maximum capacity. Storage area has proper signs, secured, both sharps <br />containers and red bags are held in 90 gallon barrels. BFI picks up 2 - 3 times per week. <br />3. Described the use of any disinfection procedures used in your facility for treatment of medical waste and for <br />cleaning of containers and enclosure. <br />All of our containers go with the waste; we do not clean or disinfect them. Hauler, BFI, provides <br />disinfected containers. <br />4. Describe the method of medical waste treatment employed by your facility. How will your waste be handled if <br />your treatment system breaks down for any reason. <br />All waste is picked up; no waste is treated at Gould <br />5. How will you handle mixed medical, hazardous or radioactive wastes? <br />Medical waste and hazardous waste - hazardous waste. <br />Medical waste and hazardous waste and radioactive waste = radioactive waste. <br />6.
