To define types of medical waste and appropriate disposal of medical waste generated by <br />programs at the San Joaquin County Public Health Services. <br />San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS). <br />A TOXCIi:T911J►103 <br />San Joaquin Co. Public Health Services (SJCPHS) is registered as a Large Quantity Generator. The <br />estimated monthly volume of medical and laboratory waste is 200 lbs. The Public Health Clinic <br />and Public Health Laboratory are the only generators of medical waste for SJCPHS. <br />The Public Health Laboratory treats Select Agent wastes by autoclaving prior to disposal. <br />The Public Health Clinic may transport medical waste to SJCPHS for proper disposal of small <br />quantities (less than 35 lbs. at any one time) of biohazardous waste from other clinic sites in the <br />county or from field use during patient visits. In addition the Public Health Clinic may have <br />pourable pharmaceutical waste which requires incineration. <br />All biohazardous/medical waste is collected by a contracted medical waste hauler and treated at <br />the approved off site treatment facility. <br />\: M1 to • j • <br />San Joaquin Co.
