The inspector noted few <br />observations that requires corrective action as below: <br />Observations <br />25. Biohazardous waste is stored above 32 F onsite for more than 7 days. <br />- A person who generates 20 or more pounds of biohazardous waste per month shall not contain or store that waste above 32 F <br />onsite for more than 7 days. A person who generates less than 20 pounds of biohazardous waste per month shall not contain or <br />store that waste above 32 F onsite for more than 30 days. HSC 118280(e)(1) — Tracking records indicate biohazardous <br />waste was stored onsite for more than 7 days (from October 24, 2019 to November 1, 2019). "No one here" was written <br />on the tracking record for October 31, 2019 by the medical waste hauler. Ensure an explanation Is documented for the <br />medical waste not picked up within 7 days. <br />31. The tracking records were not complete. <br />- Medical waste is tracked from the point when the waste leaves the generator facility until it receives final treatment The <br />tracking document should include all information listed in HSG 118040 —The tracking record for April 25, 2019 did not have <br />the generator's signature. The volume of medical waste picked up on July 25, 2019 was not visible on the tracking <br />record. The information written on the August 29, 2019 tracking record was not visible. Ensure all tracking records are <br />complete and legible. <br />Corrective action: This pertains to all the laboratory staff coordinating with the Stericycle <br />medical waste pick and receiving the receipts and is effective from February 27, 2020, <br />25. HSC 118280: The laboratory staff must document the reason including the initials and date <br />recorded on the Stericycle Medical waste tracking form when the medical waste is not picked <br />up within 7 days. <br />31. HSC 118040- Tracking records: The laboratory staff must pay attention to the Stericycle <br />Medical waste tracking forms received from the Stericycle waste pick up representative.
