C <br />Field11 <br />Operations Policy 1 Procedures`: <br />4 <br />3. Restrict access to all preparation areas (i.e. embalming, dressing, casketing) to <br />authorized/licensed personnel, especially when decedent preparation is being performed, <br />or as mandated by government regulation. <br />4. Cameras and recording devices are prohibited from all preparation and restricted areas. <br />9.4 Biohazardous Waste Disposal Requirements <br />Policy. Biohazardous waste consists of, but is not limited to, intravenous tubes, used bandages, <br />clothing, linens, personal protective equipment, non -reusable sharp instruments or any other item <br />that has been contaminated with body fluids, and must be disposed of in a safe and secure <br />manner. <br />Procedure. <br />1. Check and adhere to governmental regulations regarding the time allowed for storage of <br />Biohazardous waste. <br />2. Ensure biohazardous waste is disposed through a licensed waste disposal company <br />specifically permitted to handle Biohazardous waste, which operates within applicable <br />governmental regulations. <br />a. Retain all bills of lading (manifests) from the disposal company as evidence of proper <br />disposal. <br />Place biohazardous waste disposal receptacle(s) supplied by the licensed biohazardous <br />waste disposal company in the immediate area where preparation and mortuary services <br />are performed. <br />a. Keep biohazardous waste separate from regular trash. <br />b. Place the biohazardous waste receptacle in an area where unauthorized personnel or <br />the public cannot access it. <br />c. Ensure the receptacle is closable and constructed to prevent leakage during handling, <br />storage or transport. <br />d. Ensure the receptacle carries a standard biohazardous label. <br />e. If leakage occurs or is suspected, place the container in a secondary container. <br />i. Ensure the secondary container is closable and is constructed to prevent leakage <br />during handling, storage or transport. <br />ii.
