Multipurpose dry chemical (Class ABC) portable fire extinguishers must be located <br />within 50 feet of a potential fire source. <br />Procedure. <br />1. Location Supervisor or Manager schedules an annual fire extinguisher inspection by a <br />certified local agency. <br />2. Location personnel verify that each extinguisher has a tag showing that an annual <br />inspection has been completed with the initials of the inspector on the tag. <br />3. Location personnel inspect each extinguisher monthly to ensure it is fully charged, in <br />good working order and in its designated location.
