Containers will be allowed to air dry. <br /> STO RAG E AR EA: <br /> The area at AMR San Joaquin Operations is in the apparatus bay in the deployment area <br /> contained within a cyclone fence in the North East corner. The storage area is kept looked locked al <br /> all times with access limited to Vehicle Service Technicians and Supervisory staff. A daily drop off <br /> barrel is kept outside of the locked room. This barrel is sorted daily,then transferred into the <br /> locked room. <br /> 13.0 WORKAREARESTRICTIONS: <br /> 13.1 In work areas where there is a reasonable likelihood of exposure to blood or <br /> other potentially infectious materials, employees are not to eat,drink,apply <br /> cosmetics or lip balm, smoke or handle contact lenses. Food and beverages <br /> are not to be kept in areas where blood or other potentially infectious <br /> materials are present. <br /> 13.2 All procedures will be conducted in a manner that will minimize splashing, <br /> spraying, splattering and generation of droplets of blood or other potentially <br /> infectious materials. Methods that will be employed at AMR to accomplish <br /> this are the use of Personal Protective Equipment, proper disposal and proper <br /> placement of contaminated articles into approved plastic bags. <br /> 14.0 RESPONSIBILITY: <br /> 14.1 The Deployment Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the equipment <br /> that has become contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious <br /> materials shall be examined prior to servicing and shall be decontaminated <br /> as necessary. <br /> 14.2San Joaquin County has the responsibility to ensure that all personal <br /> Protective Equipment used by the employee is provided without cost <br /> to employee. Personal Protective Equipment will be chosen based on <br /> anticipated exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. <br /> The protective equipment will be considered appropriate only if it does <br /> not permit blood or other potentially infectious materials to pass through <br /> or reach the employee's clothing, skin, eyes, mouth, or other mucous <br /> membranes under normal conditions of use and for the duration of time <br /> which the protective equipment will be used.Additional PPB will be located <br /> in the supply area. <br /> Examples of blood or OPIM's are vomiting, blood squirting from veins or <br /> arteries, open wounds, cuts, known venereal diseases individuals, or any <br /> situation where you are likely to be splashed or come into contact with body <br /> fluids. <br />
