12.7 The employee will attend any follow-up sessions, check-up or other treatment <br /> as necessary. The on-duty Supervisor will complete a "Supervisor's <br /> Investigation Report, fax it to SRM and forward a copy to the Operations <br /> Manager for follow-up. <br /> • All Infectious Waste will be placed into red Infectious Waste bags, and <br /> then placed into the hard Infectious Waste barrels located at the Crew <br /> Stations and Operations. These barrels are rigid and are labeled <br /> "Biohazard." All bags will be tied or taped at the top and will not be <br /> "Overflowing." All infectious waste linen will be placed into Yellow <br /> Infectious Waste Linen Bags for either cleaning or disposal. All <br /> contaminated uniforms will be placed into a "Melt — away bag", and <br /> then placed into a yellow infectious waste bag. These will be either sent <br /> for decontamination or disposal. <br /> 12.8 All used / contaminated sharps will be placed in a "Sharps Container." All <br /> sharps containers will be filled so as not to exceed the storage capacity of the <br /> container. Once sharp containers have been filled to the line, they will be taped <br /> and placed in the Infectious Waste Storage area for disposal. <br /> • All medical waste shall be stored above 32 degrees Fahrenheit. <br /> Medical wastes shall be transported from the Crew Quarters Biohazard <br /> Waste Area to the Operations Biohazard Waste Area in conjunction <br /> with the daily rounds of the Materials Coordinator. Medical Wastes in <br /> the Operations Biohazard Waste Area are stored no longer than 7 days. <br /> • The Materials Coordinator will transport the Biohazard Waste from the <br /> Crew Quarters to Operations in the supply van. The Biohazard Waste <br /> will be stored in closable rigid containers during transport. <br /> • All medical waste spills are sprayed with "Cavicide", a disinfectant <br /> spray containing 0.1% dimethyl benzyl ammonium chlorides and 0.1% <br /> ethylbenzyl ammonium chlorides. The spray will be left on the spill for <br /> a wet-connect time of 10 minutes. <br /> •®® Cavicide <br /> Bactericidal <br /> Virucidal <br /> Fungicidal <br /> Turberculocidal <br /> • All medical waste will be contained separately from other waste at the <br /> point of generation. <br /> • Soiled medical waste containers will be cleaned in the following <br /> manner: <br /> Containers will be sprayed with disinfectant.
