Pharmaceutical waste is not segregated for storage. The facility accumulates pharmaceutical waste in cardboard <br />boxes that are only labeled on the top and front of the box. A rigid container labeled on the top and on all four <br />sides should be used for storage prior to shipping pharmaceutical waste off site. <br />- Nonradioactive and non-RCRA pharmaceutical wastes, that are regulated as medical waste, shall be placed in a container <br />or secondary container labeled with the words "HIGH HEAT OR INCINERATION ONLY' on the lid and sides, so as to be <br />visible from any lateral direction. HSC 118275(a)(6)(B) <br />-"Container" means the rigid container in which the medical waste is placed prior to transporting for purposes of storage or <br />treatment. HSC 117645 <br />25. Biohazardous waste is stored above 32 F onsite for 14 days. The frequency of medical waste pick-ups for the <br />facility should be at a minimum once per every 7 days. <br />- A person who generates 20 or more pounds of biohazardous waste per month shall not contain or <br />store that waste above 32 F onsite for more than 7 days. A person who generates less than 20 pounds <br />of biohazardous waste per month shall not contain or store that waste above 32 F onsite for more than <br />30 days. HSC 118280(e)(1) <br />All evidence of corrections are due to the EHD by 11/5/2019. <br />Evidence of corrections can be submitted to the EHD by email at: jeaster@sjgov.org <br />Notes: <br />1. The Medical Waste Management Plan has the required information. <br />2. Records for training on the segregation of waste streams were available for review. <br />3. Inmar is the redistributor for the facility. <br />4. Pharmaceutical waste is packaged for pick-up in cardboard boxes with a single label on the front face of the box. <br />Reinspecion on/about: A reinspection fee of $152 per hour may be charged.
