Auk <br /> INFECTIOUS WASTE PROCEDURE <br /> 1 . INFECTIOUS WASTE <br /> Delta Family Planning does not generate wastes <br /> considered infectious, as described in Section 11, 1 <br /> through 7 and b of the current California Health <br /> and Safety Code . <br /> Infectious sharps, as referred to in Section 66840 <br /> shall be disposed of according to written protocols . <br /> .2 . SHARPS <br /> All sharps are considered infectious . These include <br /> lancets, capillary tubes, TB tine tests and needles . <br /> They are disposed of by putting them in red plastic <br /> infectious containers . The containers are autoclaved <br /> when full and then may be put into the regular trash. <br /> f 3 . RED BAGS <br /> Red bags laveded "Infectious Waste" shall be available <br /> in case of an emergency situation where infectious <br /> wastes might be generated. They shall be kept in the <br /> cupboard along with the container for sharps . <br /> 4 . CONTAINMENT <br /> When not in use, all infectious waste containers shall <br /> be stored in a larger container so labeled in English <br /> and Spanish to designate their contents . <br /> �.
