Y r
Y
III. CONSTRUCTION/PHASING PLAN
The Kaiser Stockton Medical Center will be built over a 15-20
year period in four development phases . Figure 6 depicts the
construction phases .
The first phase, tentatively scheduled for 1988-89 , will
contain a 90 doctor MOB and 424 parking spaces as shown on Table
1 . The Phase I area will be landscaped ; in addition , trees will
be planted elsewhere on the larger site to reach maturity as
later phases are constructed.
The second phase , tentatively scheduled for 1992-93 , will
provide the first 100 beds of the hospital and necessary support
facilities . Additional site development will add 315 parking
spaces . Prior to construction of the 2nd phase , inpatient
hospital care will be provided at local hospitals .
The third phase , to include a 90 doctor MOB , is tentatively
scheduled for 1998-99 , and will complete the , medical office
portion of the project . As shown in Table 1 , 424 additional
parking spaces will be provided.
The fourth and final phase is tentatively to be constructed
in 2003-4 and will provide the second 100 beds of the hospital .
An additional 349 parking spaces will complete the 1 ,512 parking
spaces to be provided for the facility. City of Stockton codes
would require only 622 spaces at build out .
It is noted that the above construction/phasing schedule is
tentative and depends to a great extent on enrollment
projections . Kaiser anticipates approximately 10,000 new members
each year from the Stockton service area. If new members exceed
these projections , the construction/phasing schedule could be
much more rapid .
B-12 ,
