• Page 2 <br /> „The Nest Water System <br /> • Connection to a permitted public water system that meets the SDWA standards. <br /> • Construction of a new water source that will meet the SDWA standards. <br /> The following information must be submitted to the EHD in order to demonstrate compliance <br /> with the standards of the SDWA and the San Joaquin County Well Standards requirements for a <br /> public water system supply well. <br /> 1. A detailed schematic of the property showing the location of the well,pressure tank, <br /> backflow prevention assemblies,water lines (i.e. irrigation, fire, and domestic), the <br /> existing/proposed septic system and the 100%replacement septic area, shall be provided <br /> to the EHD. This document shall also clearly identify the distance between the location <br /> of the well and all of the potential sources of contamination and pollution listed in <br /> Section 3.1 of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health <br /> Division Well Standards (enclosed). <br /> 2. The following water quality testing shall be performed with sampling and analysis by <br /> state certified laboratory personnel at a state approved laboratory facility. The samples <br /> shall be obtained from the wellhead and properly labeled by the laboratory as such. <br /> a. Secondary(Aesthetics): Bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide alkalinity, calcium, <br /> iron,magnesium,manganese,p , sodium, and total hardness are due at least once <br /> (California Code of Regulations (CCR),Title 22, Section 64449). <br /> b. Inorganic Chemicals: Fluoride is due at least once (CCR, Title 22, Section 64432 <br /> (m)(1))• <br /> C. Nitrate: If the results are over %2 of the MCL, then quarterly monitoring for one <br /> year will be required. Otherwise, monitoring is annually(CCR, Title 22, Section <br /> 64432.1). <br /> d. Nitrite: If the results are over '/2 of the MCL,then quarterly monitoring for one <br /> year will be required. Otherwise, monitoring is once every three years (CCR, Title <br /> 22, Section 64432.1). <br /> e. Bacteriological: The Department will require at least two consecutive <br /> bacteriological samples that are Total Coliform Absent and Fecal Absent. The <br /> samples shall be collected and reported within a seven day period and shall in no <br /> case be performed more than twenty-eight(28) days prior to use of the well. <br /> Sampling will then be required quarterly from the distribution system as noted on <br /> the approved Sample Siting Plan(CCR, Title 22, Section 64421, 64423 (a)). <br /> When a positive bacteriological result occurs, four repeats samples must be taken <br /> within 24 hours of being notified of the positive result and five routine samples <br /> shall be collected the following month. Please be aware that bacteriological results <br /> collected for a system in a calendar month shall be reported to the Department no <br /> later than the tenth day of the following month. <br /> 3. The enclosed Sample Siting Plan shall be completed and provided to the EHD and the <br /> analytical laboratory. <br /> 4. The driller's well log shall be submitted to the EHD with an updated technical report as <br /> required by the Health and Safety(HS) Code, Section 116530. <br /> 5. The manufacturer's specification sheets for the well pump and storage tanks including the <br /> pump curve data sheet shall be submitted to EHD. <br />
