San Joaquin Street
i P.O. Box 2009
` Stockton, CA 95201
Pete Wilson, Governor
Subject: Status of Cloned, Illegal, and Abandoned (CIA) Sites
Dear Mr. Padilla!
The purpose of this letter is to provide approval of Site
Investigation Process (SIP) forms submitted by the San Joaquin
County Solid Waste Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) and provide -an
update on the status of CIA sites and closure plan submittals.
The SIP forms and proposed CIA site inspection frequencies were
submitted in accordance with LEA Advisory No. 3 (June 10, 1993).
The attached tables summarize the status of CIA sites and sites
subject to 14 CCR closure and postclosure maintenance plan
requirements. The tables include our record of completed work,
and inspection requirements. In general, the record to date of
the San Joaquin County LEA with regard to closure issues is
excellent. The tables will hopefully assist you in planning
future LEA activities with regard to closure issues.
To complete the requirements for reducing inspection frequencies,
please submit a brief description of your tracking system for
postclosure land use. Please refer directly to LEA Advisory
No. 3 for guidelines on acceptable tracking systems.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 255-2343.
Sincerely,
Scott Walker, Manager
Closure and Remediation Branch, North Section
Permitting and Enforcement Division
Attachments
cc: Mr. William J.
