Soil Cover Work Plan, Former Cullet Staging Area
Pilkington North America, Inc.
500 East Louise Avenue, Lathrop, CA a ntea g ro u p
Antea Group Project No. PILKCU3215
Antea Group proposes the installation of the former cullet staging area cover in three stages. The first stage would
install the cover over Area 1 in the southern portion of the former cullet staging area. This area encompasses
approximately 16,700 square feet.
Stage two would occur after one rainy season has occurred. Antea Group will evaluate the condition of this initial
cover, recommend any appropriate modifications to the cover design, and upon client and oversight agency
concurrence, proceed with the installation over Area 2 in the northwest portion of the former cullet staging area.
Stage three will occur after an additional rainy season has occurred. Antea Group will perform an additional
evaluation of the initial cover over Area 1 and the cover over Area 2, recommend any appropriate modifications to
the cover design, and proceed with the installation over Area 3 in the northeast portion of the former cullet
staging area.
Construction on the cover installation could commence within 45 days of work plan concurrence by SJCEHD. As
this area of the property is unpaved, construction could be impacted by weather conditions that may make the site
too wet or muddy for construction. To obtain maximum plant growth with minimal applied water, Antea Group
recommends that Stage 1 be performed in the late fall just prior to the annual rainy season. This would ensure
maximum germination and root growth to provide erosion control.
5.0 REPORTING
Upon completion of each stage of cover activities, a brief letter report summarizing the work performed will be
prepared and submitted to SJCEHD. Once stage three of the former cullet staging area cover has been installed, a
Cullet Staging Area Cover Report summarizing the field activities related to the installation of all three stages of the
cover will be prepared and submitted to the SJCEHD.
Subsequent to the completion of the cover installation over the third stage area, the entire cover will be inspected
annually to evaluate condition and stability. A brief summary of that inspection will be prepared providing any
recommendations for maintenance, etc. that may be necessary to the cover.
The proposed activities outlined in this work plan and the corresponding reports, will be performed and prepared
under the direction of a California Registered Professional Geologist.
5 www.anteagroup.com
