Lodi City Landfill November 16,2011
North of Awani Drive,Lodi,California Project No. 104690061
15. SITE RESTORATION AND MANAGEMENT OF INVESTIGATIVE DERIVED WASTES
After completion of field activities, the site will be left in an orderly condition with equipment, unused
materials, and other miscellaneous items resulting from, or used in,the investigation removed from the
site. The IDW generated during drilling (cuttings and decontamination water) will be placed into
DOT-compliant, steel, 55-gallon drums and labeled. The drums will be temporarily stored on site at a
location selected by CalRecycle,City of Lodi and other applicable persons. The IDW will be character-
ized for off-site disposal by analytical results of samples collected and analyzed as part of the site
investigation. If additional analytical testing is required by the off site disposal facility, a samples from
each DOT drum will be collected, composited at the analytical testing laboratory and analyzed in ac-
cordance with the testing required by the off site disposal facility. The drummed decontamination water
will be sampled, (e.g., one sample will be collected from each drum), laboratory-composited, and the
analytical data will be used to characterize the decontamination water for offsite disposal.IDW will not
be generated from the exploratory trenching since each excavation will be backfilled with materials
excavated from that trench. As previously mentioned, if oversized materials are encountered while ex-
cavating, they likely will not be excavated (unless specifically requested by the CalRecycle or the
EHD/LEA, and excavation will continue adjacent to these oversized buried wastes. If the oversized
waste debris needs to be excavated,it will either be placed back into the trench excavation during back-
filling or if requested by regulatory personnel, depending on the waste type, may be dispos9of off site.
Used personal protective equipment(PPE)will be bagged and placed into a municipal refuse dump-
ster.Any PPE to be disposed of,which can still be used, will be rendered inoperable before disposal.
cAf
16. LANDFILL GAS MONITORING
The EHD/LEA will conduct LFG monitoring for a period of approximately one year and will provide
results of the monitoring to CalRecycle staff in separate monthly monitoring reports. CalRecycle
staff will collect samples for analytical testing. After approximately one year of monitoring data is
compiled and evaluated, regulatory agencies may make a determination regarding the frequency of
monitoring and adequacy of the LFG monitoring network (e.g.,necessity for additional LFG wells,
implementation of LFG control,etc.).
104690061RSnW.doc 37 / *7,v 1*nurP.
