11. Decontamination Procedures <br /> All personnel and equi)ment must be free from contamination when they leave the work <br /> site. <br /> PERSONNEL DECONTAMINATION <br /> Decontamination of personnel shall be accomplished to ensure that any material, which <br /> personnel may have contacted in the exclusion zone, is removed in the contamination- <br /> reduction zone. Decontamination of personnel shall utilize the following steps as <br /> appropriate to the specific work area: <br /> Step 1: Wash down boots with sprayer; <br /> Step 2: Femove OUTER gloves; <br /> Step 3: Femove the hard hat, decontaminate as needed; <br /> Step 4: Femove respirators and suitably store while on breaks and during <br /> lunch. At the end of shift, discard the cartridges (note: respirator <br /> should be disinfected after use by wiping down and allowing to air <br /> dry./1; <br /> Step 5: Remove INNER gloves; and <br /> Step 6: \A ash hands, face and neck before breaks, lunch, and site <br /> departure. <br /> EQUIPMENT QECON*I-AM I NATION <br /> Any equipment and ve iicles that come in contact with contaminated soil will undergo <br /> decontamination. Each party will be responsible for final decontamination of their <br /> equipment. <br /> WASTE HANDLING <br /> Contaminated clothing will be bagged and disposed of at the end of the waste <br /> characterization project. Wastewater generated on site will be disposed of onsite. Solid <br /> wastes will be disposed of in temporary waste storage areas set up within the exclusion <br /> zone.
