Austin Road Landfill <br />Page 2 <br />March 1,6 1976 <br />Adequate food, water, and shelter are evident throughout fill area. Only <br />a small fence has been provided- on the north sideof fill. Trash and papers <br />litter this area. Caretaker has also been scavenging in the dump area and <br />retrieving metal to sell. These scavenged materials appear to be stored at <br />the entrance to fill area and to the west of the present fill face. These <br />areas may provideadditionalrodent harborage. Garbage and refuse was found <br />ind all l -over old fill area. This appears to be from pri- <br />vate individuals who apparently come in tofillarea at night. No fence has <br />been provided around old fill area to. protect against this problem. Therefore <br />small amounts of, garbage lie all over areawhich may provide additional food <br />sources for rodent populations. <br />
