You stated that
this company's trucks are delivering trash and garbage
to the Austin Dump and that their trucks are not
covered, in violation of the law.
I also had a conversation with you wherein you state
that you believe Delta Container was hauling trash that
contained oily papers and that these papers.were being
lost by these trucks along the road.
On July 1, 1977, I called the owner of Delta Container
Corporation into my office, Mr. Gregory Basso. Mr.
Basso admitted that some of his trucks are not covered.
He states that the reason they are not covered is that
some of this garbage that they haul is sludge that comes
from the disposal plant that is taken to a processing
plant that takes the protein out of it which is used
for livestock, and the residue the company hauls off
to the Austin Dump. He states that this residue is so
oily and greasy that it would ruin their tarps so they
don't use them.
I pointed out to Mr. Basso that the law requires that
his trucks be covered. He states that he has only one
truck that makes these deliveries and that he is going
to have this truck covered with metal covering. This
will be done as soon as it is possible.
Regarding the letter and our conversation regarding
Stockton Scavengers,.in particular their truck #5,
