El Dorado Street
Stockton, CA 95202-1997
EFFLUENT AND RECEIVING WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT REPORT, AUSTIN
ROAD LANDFILL, GROUND WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM (CASE# 3735)
We have reviewed the Effluent and Receiving Water Quality Assessment Report dated
October 1993, prepared on your behalf by EMCON Associates. The purpose of the Report
was to determine if the proposed discharge from the ground water treatment system would
have any impacts on receiving water quality and, if necessary, develop a plan to mitigate the
impacts. The Report indicates that the discharge from the ground water treatment system
would have no impacts on the receiving water, Littlejohn Creek.
The Report also requests a revision to the Monitoring and Reporting Program by reducing the
monitoring frequency of several constituents. As stated in previous discussions, we will not
consider reducing any monitoring frequencies until we are satisfied that the treatment system
is performing as designed and the discharge is not impacting Littlejohn Creek. Once the
treatment system has been constructed and we have received sufficient data regarding the
discharge, we will consider reviewing a proposal to revise the monitoring program.
If you have any further questions, please contact me at (916) 255-3136.
RID ERT A.
