City of Stockton TL 394-0027-02
March 10, 1994 Page 10
APPENDIX B
SITE SAFETY PLAN
The operations site safety plan for the Twining personnel assigned
to the project are discussed in the following subsections.
B-1 Potential Health and Safety Hazards: The purpose for gas
probes is to monitor landfill gas concentrations along the
perimeter of the landfill. Consequently, the primary hazards
associated with this work will be potentially hazardous
concentrations of methane and physical hazards such as the drill
rig, automobiles, and heavy equipment associated with the landfill.
Information developed regarding the site indicates that no
hazardous materials are anticipated at this well location. if
unusual odors or other signs of potentially hazardous materials are
observed during work activities, work will be stopped until the
hazard is identified.
The drill rig will be positioned down wind of the borehole and out
of the path of automobile and equipment traffic. Spark sources
will not be in the vicinity of the borehole. Furthermore, traffic
cones and caution tape will be placed around the work area.
Methane concentrations will be monitored using a Gastech Model 1314
calibrated for methane.
TABLE B-1
EMERGENCY INFORMATION
San Joaquin General Hospital
500 West Hospital Road
French Camp, California
(209) 468-6300
Police / Fire / Ambulance - 911
Twining Laboratories
1 .
