WORK PLAN FOR GROUNDWATER MONITORING
WELL INSTALLATION
AUSTIN ROAD LANDFILL
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
1 .0 INTRODUCTION
This work plan is for the installation of two groundwater
monitoring wells at the Austin Road Landfill, San Joaquin County,
California. Preparation of this work plan was authorized by the
City of Stockton by purchase order number 058883, dated February 9,
1994 .
This work plan was prepared by the Environmental Services Division
of The Twining Laboratories, Inc. (Twining) in Modesto, California.
2 .0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of this project is to install two groundwater
monitoring wells to a depth of 125 feet below site grade (BSG) .
The new wells are intended to replace shallower wells used for
quarterly monitoring purposes that are currently dry. The
following scope of work is proposed to achieve the above referenced
objective:
o Drill two soil borings to 125 feet below site grade (BSG) and
collect soil samples for lithology purposes;
o Complete borings as two-inch diameter groundwater monitoring
wells;
o Develop wells and install dedicated bladder pumps; and
o Prepare a report documenting field activities for each
landfill. A site location map, a site plan showing well
locations, final boring logs, well construction diagrams, and
well development logs will be included.
3.0 BACKGROUND
A description of the site, the geologic and hydrologic
characteristics, and the project history are summarized in the
following subsections.
