PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS <br /> for <br /> FORWARD INC. AND ALLIED WASTE INC. <br /> AUSTIN ROAD LANDFILL FACILITY <br /> CLASS III LANDFILL <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The Austin Road Landfill is an existing unlined Class III landfill located 7 miles southeast of <br /> Stockton on Austin Road in San Joaquin County. The landfill has released contaminants to <br /> groundwater and the existing corrective actions have failed to cleanup or contain pollution. <br /> These revised Waste Discharge Requirements require closure of the existing unlined landfill <br /> footprint, improvements to the landfill gas collection system, and construction of groundwater <br /> recharge facilities. <br /> A formal public hearing concerning this matter will be held during the Regional Board meeting <br /> which is scheduled for: <br /> DATE: 6 and 7 June 2002 <br /> TIME: 9:00 AM <br /> PLACE: 3443 Routier Road, Suite A <br /> Sacramento, CA. <br /> The designated parties for this hearing are as follows: <br /> • Staff of Central Valley Regional Board <br /> • Forward Inc. <br /> Only designated parties will have these rights: to call and examine witnesses; to introduce <br /> exhibits; to cross-examine opposing witnesses; to impeach any witness; and to rebut the evidence <br /> against him or her. All other persons wishing to testify or provide comments are interested <br /> persons and not designated parties. Such interested persons may request status as a designated <br /> party for purposes of this hearing by submitting such request in writing to the Board no later than <br /> 3 May 2002. The request must explain the basis for status as a designated party and in particular <br /> how the person is directly affected by the discharge. <br /> Persons wishing to comment on this noticed hearing item must submit testimony, evidence, <br /> and/or comments in writing to thg Regional Board no later than 3 May 2002. Written <br /> testimony, evidence, or comments submitted after 3 May 2002 will not be accepted and <br />
