(CASE NO. 2148)
We have reviewed the Fourth Quarter and Annual 2001 Monitoring Report submitted on 15 January
2002 for the Austin Road Landfill. The enclosed Monitoring Report Compliance Checklists summarizes
our comments on the report. Forward Inc. should submit an addendum to the report to address item
number 21 a map showing the area and elevations in which filling has occurred over the past year,
which is required in the Standard Provision portion of your Waste Discharge Requirements. All future
annual reports should also include the noted item.
The VOCs and inorganic parameters elevated above concentration limits in groundwater are consistent
with previous results and there is no evidence of increasing contribution of contaminants to groundwater.
If you have any questions please call me at (916) 255-3814.
Ross D.
