Pap 2-17 SEC77CN 2- SITE OPERATIONS PLAN
■ Storm water drainage facilities, such as ditches, berms and the detention/sedimentation
basins.
n Dust Control
Fugitive dust could be generated during dry weather from truck traffic and landfill operations.
The following activities will be used to control dust, as required:
x Watering and use of dust suppressing chemicals on unpaved roadways and other
exposed areas of the site, not including the active area of the landfill.
n Paving the main access road.
x Preventing trucks and loaders from dumping materials at heights greater than the
minimum necessary to ensure clearance.
a Keep vehicle speeds low on unpaved roads.
n Conduct routine maintenance of roads.
x Minimize the amount of disturbed, unvegetated area.
■ Mud Control
Mud tracking is caused when water is allowed to pond on interior dirt road surfaces, causing
mud and potholes which diminish that road's integrity and allow traffic to pick up mud and
carry it onto exterior paved roads. Interior dirt roads should be graded as needed to ensure
proper drainage of surface water.
a Noise Control
Mitigation of potential noise impacts to the adjacent land uses will be accomplished by the
following:
n Operate landfill only during permitted hours of operation.
a Maintaining an appropriate buffer zone between landfill operations and surrounding
properties.
a Take noise measurements during landfill operations at the boundaries of the City owned
property. Compare measured noise levels with CAIJOSHA regulations and, if standards
are exceeded, take appropriate corrective action.
2.2.3 Confined Space Entry
Confined spaces include, but are not limited to, storage tanks, pits, open top spaces four feet or
more in depth, vaults, sewers, tunnels, manholes, ducts, catchbasins, etc. In general, there are
City:'S*.oc.-mn R.W.BOCK and Associates
1811.002
