The first 5 digits are the boring location(ex.ARL-1 A).
2. Groundwater samples include the letters GW.
3. The final number is the depth or depth interval at which the sample was collected.
4. BGS-below ground surface.
n ARL-3A-GW490 and ARL-3B-GW540 are duplicates of ARL•3A-GW90 and ARL-36-GWi40.respectively.
final boring,ARL-3B,was located in an agricultural field which,at the time, was still saturated from
the rains. A temporary culvert and drill pad was constructed to access the location. The final
boring was completed between June 8 and 12, 1998.
A detailed description of field procedures is presented in Appendix B. The borehole logs which
include lithologic and drilling information are included as Appendix C.
2.3 Aquifer Pumping Test
An aquifer pumping test was performed in the vicinity of the City's Austin Road Landfill (ARL)in
December 1997. The primary goal of the pumping test was to obtain data on the hydraulic
properties of the alluvial aquifer in the vicinity of the ARL. This was accomplished by performing
an aquifer test using the existing extraction and groundwater monitoring wells located
downgradient of the disposal facility.
CDM Camp Dresser&McKee2-2
W3REPORTS\STOCKTONIARLPLUME.981SEC2.WPD CS ®1®764
City of Stockton 190855-0006
