Austin Road Landfill Section 3
Contaminant Plume Characterization Report Field Investigation Results
In conclusion,VOC concentrations in the aquifer north of the ARL will continue to show a decline
over time, due in part to plume capture and the removal of VOCs from the shallow aquifer
provided by extraction wells EW-1 and EW-2. PCE migration and groundwater flow rates in the
MW-11 and MW-14 areas north of the ARL are about 4 feet per day to the north. Farther to the
northeast, beyond the area of influence of the extraction wells, groundwater flow and VCC
migration will continue to be toward the northeast and in deeper layers of sandy deposits within
the saturated soils. Some production of TCE and cis DCE should be expected within the aquifer as a
result of biological breakdown of PCE.
CDM Camp Dresser&McKee CS 010780 3-70
W.\REPORTS\STOCKTOMARLPLUME.98\.SEC3.WPD City of Stockton 190855-00%
