The foreman then arranges for immediate
removal and ultimate disposal by the County ' s Licensed Hazardous
Waste Contractor as directed by the Local Health District.
Experience with the load checking program to date indicates that
virtually all attempts to dispose of hazardous waste at the site
involve disposal of drums containing varying amounts of liquid.
Under the waste exclusion program, liquid containers greater than
five gallons in capacity which may be safely moved are moved away
from the dumping area and stored until disposal is accomplished
by the responsible party or the County. With the use of the
chemical storage locker at the site, barrels will be
appropriately tagged when discovered with information as to
approximate volume of contents, probable contents of the con-
tainer if known, date of discovery and responsible party if known
and then locked in the storage locker until removed from the site
and manifested by a licensed 'hazardous waste hauler.
The County contracts with a licensed hazardous waste hauler for
removal and disposal of discovered hazardous waste.
