V. SUMMARY
The hazardous waste exclusion program described herein which
includes an assigned load checker, vehicle logging, removal of
hazardous waste by a licensed hazardous waste hauler and
installation of a chemical storage locker on site has already
been implemented. Site personnel are currently trained to
identify and segregate prohibited waste for removal.
Results of the program to date indicate very little hazardous
waste is being brought to the site. This is probably due to
signs posted at the site and public notices for site information
(see Exhibit 3 ) which indicate types of waste not accepted.
Also, the implementation of the Hazardous Waste Exclusion Program
has increased the awareness of users of the site to legal
restrictions on prohibited waste, and has also discouraged
attempts at illegal disposal by charging expensive disposal tees
to the offenders .
E MO-SW-FH6 ( 7 ) (12/91 )
