J. H. KLEI N FELD ER & ASSOCIATES
GEOTECHNICAL CONSULTANTS • MATERIALS TESTING
LAND & WATER RESOURCES
2825 EAST MYRTLE STREET
STOCKTON• CA 95205-47,94
,209)948-13,45
File No. S-1008-35
May 21, 1985
San Joaquin County
Department of Public Works
1810 East Hazelton
Stockton, CA 95205
Attention: Mr. Tom Horton
Gentlemen:
Transmitted with this letter is our Geologic Investigation of the existing
Foothill Sanitary landfill site, located on Waverly Road approximately one mile
south of Shelton Road.
The report includes a summary of the field explorations and laboratory
tests performed for this study, a discussion of the geologic conditions at the
A
site, and an evaluation of the groundwater depth, quality and gradient.
Based on our study, we conclude that the property is suitable for continued
development as a Class III sanitary landfill site, subject to proper design and
satisfactory operation and manitenance. Our conclusion is based on the sparsely
populated location, depth to groundwater and presence of large amounts of rela-
tively impermeable soil.
We trust that the accompanying report presents the information requested at
this time. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Respectfully submitted,
J. H. KLEI N FE D be ASSOCIATE
Ron Heinen, C. E.
RTH:k1d
AiHfR•`ff "i 1 II
