MONITORING RESULTS
Groundwater
Summary
Groundwater samples were collected on October 8,2003.
Statistical analysis by Sanitas® shows that all constituents in all non-impacted wells were within
concentration limits where these limits could be determined (Table 1). Concentration limits for pH,
Nitrate, and Total Alkalinity as CaCO3 could not be determined using Sanitas® for MW-4 because
of"statistically significant" trends for these parameters. Concentration limits for parameters in wells
MW-6 and MW-7 could not be determined due to insufficient data(these wells were first sampled
this year).
Shallow Aquifer
SB-1 (Up-gradient):
Concentrations of parameters were within established concentration limits where these limits could
be determined. Concentration limits for Nitrate as Nitrogen and Carbonate Alkalinity as CaCO3
could not be determined due to greater than 50 percent non-detects. Concentration limits for
Calcium,Potassium,Magnesium and Sodium could not be determined due to insufficient data.
No VOCs were reported this quarter from SB-1.
MW-4:
Concentrations were within established concentration limits where these limits could be determined.
Significant trends for pH and Nitrate continued this quarter in well MW-4 with a decreasing trend in
pH and an increasing trend in Nitrate. Rank Sum analysis indicated significantly different median
concentrations between the compliance data and the background data and for pH and Nitrate.
The concentration limit of Total Alkalinity as CaCO3 could not be determined because of a
' significantly increasing trend. There were no differences between the medians indicated for
Alkalinity as CaCO3. The concentration limits for Calcium,Potassium,Magnesium and Sodium
could not be determined due to insufficient data.
Two VOCs(Acetone and Methylene Chloride)were reported. Because both compounds were also
found in laboratory quality control blanks and are therefore "false positives",the well was not re-
sampled.
Corral Follow Landfill 4 Department of Public Works/Solid Waste
4TH Qtr/Annual 2003 Groundwater Monitoring County of San Joaquin-January 28,2004
