INTRODUCTION <br /> General <br /> ' San Joaquin County is submitting this second semester 2003 monitoring report for the Foothill <br /> Sanitary Landfill(FSL) in compliance with Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) Order <br /> No. R5-2003-0020. <br /> The FSL is located in eastern San Joaquin County on Waverly Road, four miles east of Linden, <br /> CA(Figure 1). Land uses within 1,000 feet of the facility are agricultural. The vicinity receives <br /> ' an average of about 18 inches of precipitation per year. <br /> The Foothill Sanitary Landfill is a single Class III Waste Management Unit on an 800-acre parcel <br /> ' comprised of Module"I" and Module 1. Future modules will overlap onto the completed modules <br /> and filled until final closure of the Unit. The size of future modules will be selected in accordance <br /> with the refuse disposal rate. <br /> The total capacity of the landfill is approximately 102 million cubic yards. The active life of the <br /> facility is estimated to allow disposal until year 2050,based on current disposal rates and <br /> capacities (Table 1).
