On June 4, 2004, the Count issued a violation to the CVRW CB for failure to discuss the results
Q Y
of the soil gas analysis in the report. This Revision is submitted in conformance to the
requirements of that violation.
' MONITORING PROGRAM
' Water quality is monitored in accordance with WDR Order No. R5-2003-0020.
Groundwater
The groundwater well network now consists of upgradient well MW-1 and downgradient wells
MW-2R, and MW-3 (Figure 3). All monitoring wells are equipped with dedicated purge and
' sampling pumps. Groundwater well MW-2R replaced well MW-2, which was abandoned in June
2003 because it's location was in the expansion footprint of module 1.
Groundwater samples are analyzed semiannually for the following monitoring and field
parameters as specified in the WDRs:
• Temperature 0 Chloride
• Electrical Conductivity 0 Sulfate
pH 0 Nitrate-Nitrogen
Turbidity 0 Calcium
Total Dissolved Solids 0 Magnesium
• Potassium Sodium
• Carbonate Alkalinity Bicarbonate Alkalinity
• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
' Groundwater samples are analyzed every 5 years for the following Constituents of Concern
(CDCs):.
' Total Organic Carbon
• Inorganics (dissolved)
• VOCs (extended list)
' Semivolatile Organic Compounds
• Chlorophenexy Herbicides
• Organophosphorous Compounds
Surface Water
' Surface water samples are collected after the first storm of the rain season that produces
p Y
significant flow and semiannually thereafter, when water is flowing, from monitoring points S-1
' (upstream) and S-2 (downstream) of the landfill(see Figure 3).
Foothill Sanitary Landfill 4Department of Public Works/Solid Waste
2ND Semester/Annual 2003 Groundwater Monitoring County of San Joaquin-Revised June 29,2004
