BASE AND SLOPE LEACHATE COLLECTION AND REMOVAL SYSTEM DESIGN <br /> WMU FU-04,CENTRAL AND NORTHWEST PORTION <br /> FORWARD LANDFILL <br /> PROBLEM: <br /> Size the leachate collection and removal system components for the base and slope in the central and <br /> northwestern portion of WMU FU-04. <br /> GIVEN: <br /> These calculations were previously performed for the WMUs D-95,D-97,D-98,D-99,D-00,D-01,D-02, <br /> and FU-03 design. The same methodology for performing the previous calculations was used for the <br /> WMU FU-04 calculations. Previous calculations are referenced and attached,where applicable. <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> I. Required permeability of granular drainage material is 0.1 cm/sec. <br /> 2. Required permeability of coarse gravel is 1 cm/sec. <br /> 3. Specify 6-inch diameter,SDR 11 HDPE pipe. <br /> 4. Specify perforation pattern for pipes of/z-inch diameter holes drilled at fourth points every 6-inches <br /> along pipe length. <br /> 5. The permanent sumps are sized assuming 10-ft of refuse in WMU FU-04. <br /> 6. Site personnel will select the pump size. <br /> 7. The GDN shall be specified with a transmissivity of 5 x 10"6 mz/sec. <br />
