® INTRODUCTION <br /> General <br /> San Joaquin County is submitting this first semester 2005 monitoring report for the Foothill <br /> Sanitary Landfill (FSL)in compliance with Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) Order <br /> No.R5-2003-0020. <br /> The FSL is located in eastern San Joaquin County at Waverly Road, four miles east of Linden, CA <br /> (Figure 1). Land uses within 1,000 feet of the facility are.agricultural. The vicinity receives an <br /> average of about 18 inches of precipitation per year. <br /> The Foothill Sanitary Landfill is a single Class III Waste Management Unit on an 800-acre parcel. <br /> This Unit is comprised of Module ,r,,newly constructed Module 1, and future modules. Future <br /> modules will overlap onto the completed modules until final closure of the Unit. The size of <br /> future modules will be selected in accordance with the refuse disposal rate. <br /> Waste discharged to the landfill includes commercial and household waste, <br /> construction/demolition waste, and agricultural waste. <br /> The total capacity of the landfill is approximately 102 million cubic yards. The active life of the <br /> facility is estimated to allow disposal until year 2058,based on current disposal rates and <br /> capacities (Table 1).
