Ar 6 8 7 the appliance service form (Located in the"Forms"section of this document). -- 6. Package all regulated material for transportation and load in truck. ® 7. Once a week, transport regulated material to America Refrigeration Supplies (ARS)located at 740 East Hazelton Avenue, Stockton California, 95205; 8. Prepare all equipment for next day's assignments. 9. Other tasks,as assigned. This employee is expected to read and understand the Program guides. Each day this employee is expected to perform the following daily assignments in the order listed: Traffic Direction Program 1. Set cones and signs for traffic direction and material drop off. 2. Direct traffic. 3. At the end of the day, secure all tools and equipment in the storage box and lock the storage box. Waste Recycling Program 1. Clean trash from the metal area. 2. Load trash cans. 3. Rake the metal area. 4. Stack tires. 5. Separate and place items in order of type (i.e.washing machines, dryers, stoves, water heaters, lawn mowers, CRT's and e-waste). 6. Service appliances, motors, and CRTs by removing regulated material. 7. Haul trash to dumping area (only when there is a full truck load). 8. Separate non-ferrous metals only if other tasks are completed. 9. At the end of the day, secure all tools and equipment in the storage box and lock the storage box. 10. Other tasks, as assigned. Each Refuse Worker I will be evaluated based on the individual's ability to perform all Waste Recycling Program tasks outlined below. • Attend training sessions to receive instruction in traffic safety, hazardous waste recognition/awareness, heavy equipment safety and communications skills enhancement. • While on duty, wear Department assigned Landfill Safety Monitor Uniform, safety boots, and traffic vest. • Use all safety equipment as directed. • Maintain constant communications with other Refuse Workers I, Equipment Operators and Supervisors through the use of two way radio systems and hand signals. • Maintain a constant watch of vehicles and equipment movement, with the intent of protecting self and others from harm. • Communicate with customers,answering questions regarding landfill facility services, rules, fees,and acceptability of waste types. • Visually inspect waste loads for obvious signs of prohibited, hazardous or special waste. Communicate the unacceptability of the waste and provide information on alternative locations for legal disposal. Notify Supervisors or onsite Hazardous Waste Inspector when large amounts of hazardous waste are suspected. • Direct traffic at the Material Recycling areas, directing traffic to unload waste types in proper locations or bins. • Perform services (i.e. removing oils, mercury devices, electrical ballasts) on appliances and other household items that require special handling or disposal.
