Part 2• Responsibility & Chain of Command <br /> Solid Waste Foreman <br /> The Solid Waste Foreman(Foreman) is the Program's first line supervisor. The Solid <br /> Waste Foreman directs Program activities through the use of Materials Recovery Facility <br /> Supervisors (Supervisors). <br /> Materials Recovery Facility Supervisors <br /> The Supervisors are the lead positions assigned to the Program reporting directly to the <br /> Solid Waste Foreman. All other positions assigned to these Programs report to the <br /> Supervisors. Aside from the duties listed below, employees in these positions are <br /> expected to have knowledge of, and the ability to perform, all job tasks assigned to the <br /> Program, when needed. Supervisors are responsible for scheduling, onsite direction, and <br /> supervision of Program staff. In the absence of a Supervisor, the authority of directing <br /> Program staff must be specifically assigned to another Program staff member of <br /> sufficient knowledge and experience for the assignment. The Supervisor, or his/her <br /> appointee, is held responsible to ensure any active dumping area is staffed with traffic <br /> direction personnel at all times. The Supervisor is responsible for reporting all incidents <br /> of substandard performance of staff in writing to the Foreman. Supervisors are tasked <br /> with providing performance evaluations for Program staff. Supervisors are expected to <br /> read and understand the Program guides and provide training and direction to Program <br /> staff. Each day, this employee is expected to perform the following daily assignments in <br /> the order listed: <br /> 1. Communicate with Program employees to obtain status. <br /> 2. Report employee status to the main office staff. <br /> 3. Coordinate and assign work assignments for staff. <br /> 4. Maintain coverage at landfill dumping pads <br /> 5. Maintain coverage at the waste recycling yards. <br /> 6. Monitor the actions of all Program staff to ensure personnel are operating in a safe <br /> manner. <br /> 7. Ensure protective gear is used correctly. <br /> 8. Coordinate operations with Site Supervisors. <br /> 9. Schedule material pick up, when needed. <br /> 10. Coordinate equipment transportation with Operations staff. <br /> 11. Supervise the proper care and maintenance of equipment and vehicle fleet. <br /> 12. Report unusual occurrences to the Forman, when necessary. <br /> 13. Other tasks, as assigned. <br /> Refuse Worker I <br /> Refuse Workers I are expected to perform the routine, labor intensive tasks associated <br /> ition, once trained and approved, may operate <br /> with the Program. Employees in this pos <br /> light equipment and vehicles assigned to the Program. In this assignment, the employee <br /> is responsible for the proper use of tools and must protect them against theft, damage, or <br /> loss.
