MONITORING RESULTS
Groundwater
Summary
Groundwater was sampled and analyzed January 26 and May 15, 2006. Contamination of the
groundwater by the landfill is not indicated at this time.
Field and Monitoring Parameters
Monitoring results for the first and second quarters (Tables 3 and 4) indicate that the
concentrations of field and monitoring parameters are below established concentration limits.
Monitoring Parameter Concentration Limits
Interwell concentration limits were established from background monitoring -
g g well G 1.
VOCs
No VOCs were reported in G-1, G-313, and G-4 during the first semester 2006.
A trace of Ethanol was reported in wells G-5 and G-6 this s quarter. (Acetone was reported in G6,
but was also detected in the trip blank).
The trace levels of Ethanol in w -
ells G-5 and G 6 may be an indication of natural biodegradation
of previous contaminants, which is a positive observation in the monitored natural attenuation
program proposed for this facility.
We are pleased to report that no VOCs were reported in the second quarter at any well.
Surface Water
Surface water samples were collected on January 3, 2006. Monitoring results (Table 5) indicate
that the concentrations of field and monitoring parameters are below established concentration
limits.
Unsaturated Zone
During the first semester, the lysimeters did not yield enough water for sampling, indicating no
detectable leaks from the liner in those areas. Unsaturated zone monitoring will continue in
accordance with the WDRs.
North County RCSL 7 Public Works/Solid Waste
1st Semester 2006 Groundwater Monitoring County of San Joaquin—July 31,2006
