COLUMBIA ANALYTICAL SERVICES,INC.
Client: Shaw Environment&Infrastructure,Inc. Service Request No.: L0600154
Project: North County Landfill/791288(Ground Water) Date Received: 1/27/06
Sample Matrix: Water
CASE NARRATIVE
All analyses were performed consistent with the quality assurance program of Columbia Analytical Services,Inc.(CAS).
This report contains analytical results for samples designated for Tier II data deliverables. When appropriate to the
method, method blank results have been reported with each analytical test. Surrogate recoveries have been reported for
all applicable organic analyses. Additional quality control analyses reported herein include: Matrix/Duplicate Matrix
Spike(MS/DMS),and Laboratory/Duphcate Laboratory Control Sample(LCS/DLCS).
Sample Receipt
The samples were received for analysis at Columbia Analytical Services on 1/27/06. All discrepancies were noted upon
initial sample inspection, and reported on the Sample Receipt Exception Report included in this data package. The
samples were received in good condition and consistent with the accompanying chain of custody form. The samples
were stored at 4°C upon receipt at the laboratory.
Volatile Organic Compounds by EPA Method 8260B
The upper control criterion was exceeded for several analytes.in Laboratory Control Samples (LCS) LWG0600419-3.
The analytes in question were not detected in the associated field samples. The error associated with elevated recovery
equates to a high bias. The sample data is not significantly affected. No further corrective action was appropriate.
Dissolved Metals
Batch QC was run along with these samples. These results are provided for information purposes only. The Method
Blank and Laboratory Control Sample were within control criteria. All anomalies are reported on the Footnote
summary page included in the analytical report.
General Chemistry Parameters
No anomalies were encountered during these analyses.
Approved by V"` Date /
