0
Field Services and Mobile Laboratories
CAS performs analytical field services for many of our clients. This includes mobile and
field laboratory services, as well as rapid field screening techniques. Typical field
chemistry parameters include petroleum hydrocarbon analyses, immunoassay field
test kits, PCBs, phenols, PAHs, halogenated solvents and metals. The mobile and field
units generate timely results eliminating delays due to shipping or laboratory capacity.
Final reports are subject to the same rigorous quality assurance/quality control
(QA/QC) procedures as those executed in our fixed laboratories. Electronic data
deliverables are also available.
For each project the most cost effective and appropriate methods are identified to meet
the client's data quality objectives. Capacity of the mobile and field units depends on
what analyses are run, the number of chemists present, and the level of deliverables
required by the client. We have delivered results from as few as 10 tests per day to as
many as 60 per day from a single unit. CAS has developed the communication and
scheduling skills necessary to coordinate complex projects over large distances and
coordinate field and mobile services with those performed by our fixed facilities.
CAS also performs field sampling services in the Northeast, Southeast and Southwest.
Field sampling capabilities include groundwater monitoring, clean sampling techniques,
soil coring and automated effluent sampling.
ANALYTICAL PROGRAMS
Analytical Services
CAS' core business is analytical services, representing a variety of industries. We
provide routine and specialty testing for the environmental industry and assist our
manufacturing clients with process and product testing services. Throughout the years,
our chemists have gained valuable experience working on projects related to the
aerospace, chemical, electronics, pulp and paper, petroleum, marine, transportation
and waste management industries.
Our comprehensive services cover routine analyses and specialty testing services
such as: low-level environmental analysis of air, water, soil, sediment, tissue; indoor
air, landfill gas and source testing determinations; microbiology; industrial hygiene; and
Page 22 of 29
