Ancillary and Other Site Facilities
The ancillary facilities associated with the landfill (Figure 2) are:
• Scale house
• Perimeter and internal access roads
• Maintenance building
• On-site residential structures
• Employee lunchroom and portable restroom trailer
• Portable diesel fuel storage tank, normally placed near the active phase and inside the
® lined area of the module.
• Universal Waste Storage Bins:
Universal wastes are stored in County-provided enclosed storage bins placed
approximately 500 feet from the active face unloading area. Size of the storage bins
vary from 20 to 40 cubic yards. Cathode ray tubes (CRTs) are kept separately in non-
enclosed storage bins provided by the County. Universal waste storage bins are
removed to a County-owned facility when full, and replaced with an empty bin.
• Hazardous Waste and Material Storage Cabinet:
The current operator of the Landfill is in the process of purchasing a medium-sized
hazardous material storage cabinet to store hazardous materials. The storage bin will
be placed near the universal waste storage bins. At this time, the landfill operator stores
hazardous waste and materials next to the universal storage bins, and regularly removes
these materials to a County-owned facility.
Foothill Sanitary Landfill Page 16 of 57 Public Works/Solid Waste
Joint Technical Document County of San Joaquin—Revised 7/30/10
