When leftover paint, used oil, pool chemicals and other products containing hazardous materials are no longer wanted, they become "HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE," or
"HHW." HHW is any material discarded from homes which may threaten human health or the environment when disposed of improperly. It is illegal to dispose of these items
in the garbage, down drains, or onto the ground. Illegally disposed hazardous waste can release chemicals into the environment and contaminate our air, water, and even the
food we eat. Americans generate over 1.6 million tons of HHW per year; that's about 100 pounds of HHW for every household.
E OMS
Household Cleaners
• Abrasive Cleansers
• Ammonia -based Cleaners
• Bleach -based Cleaners
• Chlorine Bleach
• Disinfectants ■
• Drain Openers I
• Glass Cleaners
• Oven Cleaners
• Scouring Powder
• Spot Removers
• Toilet Bowl Cleaners
• Upholstery & Rug Cleaners
Other Household Products
• Aerosol Spray Cans
• Floor Polish
• Furniture Polish
• Mercury Thermometers
• Medications
• Mothballs
• Nail Polish & Remover
• Sharps (syringes, blood test products)*
• Shoe Polish
• Silver Polish
STA 71 •
Pesticides & Garden Products
• Chemical Fertilizers
• Flea Collars, Sprays & Bombs
• Fungicides
• Herbicide & Weed Killers
• Insecticide & Bug Killers
• Rodent Poisons
• Roach &Ant Killers
• Snail & Slug Poisons
Pool & Hobby Products
• Artist & Model Paints
• Firearm Cleaning Solvent
• Photographic Chemicals
• Pool Chemicals, Including Disinfectants
- PHBalancing Chemicals
Avent-Based Glue
*Must be delivered in a sealed biohazard container.
Ask about our Sharps Container Exchange.
d
Wa&ws for You a• a
Visit our ReUse Room for FREE products!
Household Hazardous Waste Facility has a Reuse
oom for products that are new or gently used.
ns typically include usable paint, solvents, plant
fertilizers, pesticides, cleaners, pool supplies and
much more.
