Get Permit for Job STOP any work activity that presents a danger to me,my co-worker or the public;get <br /> 2. Fill out JSA Wind Direction: involved,question and rectify any situation that is identified as not being in compliance <br /> 3. Review JSA(EVERYONE) with our safety and health policies;to report any unsafe conditions or acts to supervision <br /> 4. Sign JSA(EVERYONE) Evacuation Route: <br /> and question any activity that involves violation of established Safety and Health policies. <br /> Assembly Point: <br /> Job Tasks: (What are you doing?) Potential Hazards: Recommended Action or Procedure to <br /> eliminate/mitigate Hazards <br /> Air Pressure Testing Explosion • Ensure a safe perimeter has been established around <br /> pipe testing area <br /> • Keep all unnecessary personnel out of work area <br /> • Verify section of pipe to be tested is free of dirt,sand, <br /> or other material <br /> • Assure test segment of pipe has reached a constant or <br /> ambient temperature <br /> • Ensure all caps and air testing devices are butt welded <br /> to prevent blowout <br /> • Ensure all testing apparatus is securely fitted into the <br /> test end of the pipe section. <br /> • If temporary cap driplegs are used,ensure they are <br /> isolated from tanks <br /> • Add air to pipe test section at 10 psig increments only. <br /> Maximum allowable pressure for SDR17 gas piping <br /> is 30 psig. Maximum allowable pressure for SDR11 <br /> air piping is 100 psig. <br /> • Observe test pressure for 1/2 hour between 10 psig <br /> increments <br /> • If leaks are observed,no repairs may be done without <br /> verifying the pressure gauge is reading zero. <br /> Air Pressure Testing Handling Heavy Objects • Observe proper lifting techniques <br /> • Obey sensible lifting limits(60 Ib.maximum per <br /> person manual lifting) <br /> • Use mechanical lifting equipment(hand carts,trucks) <br /> to move large,awkward loads <br />
