They also meet <br />regulatory agency requirements <br />for storing hazardous wastes in a <br />secured enclosure. Our buildings' <br />high quality design standards are <br />consistent with local Hazardous <br />Material Storage Ordinances requir- <br />ing hazardous chemicals to be <br />stored in secondary containment <br />structures to prevent spills or leaks <br />from contaminating groundwater. <br />SAFETY STORAGE <br />BUILDINGS <br />Construction Features: <br />STANDARD DESIGNS <br />❑ Safety Storage Buildings are <br />specifically designed for haz- <br />ardous material storage and <br />handling <br />❑ These sturdy units are construct- <br />ed of 10 and 12 gauge ASTM - <br />A569 steel to provide structural <br />strength and security <br />❑ Storage units are designed with <br />a 6"sump providing secondary <br />spill containment <br />❑ Chemicals can be conveniently <br />stored inside each unit in drums, <br />boxes, on pallets, in 5 -gallon <br />cans or other sizes <br />❑ Storage units can be loaded/ <br />unloaded using a forklift or by <br />manual means <br />❑ All interior surfaces are coated <br />with a chemical -resistant paint <br />❑ Standard floors are corrosive <br />resistant fiberglass gratings. The <br />flooring is designed with remov- <br />able sections to permit visual <br />inspection for leaks or spills. <br />Standard floor loading is 250 psf <br />❑ A static grounding connection is <br />provided on each unit to protect <br />flammable/combustible liquids <br />from ignition by electrical <br />discharge <br />❑ Forklift pockets <br />❑ Building hold-down brackets <br />❑ Hazard placards and labeling <br />❑ Door security: Single point <br />locking mechanism with inside <br />safety release <br />Patent Pending <br />OPTIONAL FEATURES <br />❑ Safety eye/face wash units can <br />be installed where supply water <br />hookup is available.
