WMU D-99 Construction September 1999
Forward Landfill Job No.986011.02
6.0 CONCLUSION
The completion of construction work requiring CQA observation occurred on
September 2, 1999. Based on our observations and testing during the construction of
WMU D-99, the Eastern Ash Pit Closure, and the Class II Leachate Impoundment, it is
Vector's professional judgement that the construction was completed in general
accordance with the project plans and specifications, CQA plan, and applicable
regulations, with the following minor modifications:
• Modify the liner ballast from the current cement-filled tires to a 1-foot thick layer of
on-site silty sandy soil uniformly placed over the impoundment base.
• Modify the wind vents from the hooked pipes shown on the construction drawings to
the patch-type wind vent shown on the attached detail. The patch-type wind vents
will be located 1 foot vertically downward from the pond crest and spaced laterally
at 50-foot centers.
Vector Engineering, Inc. • 12438 Loma Rica Dr., #C • Grass Valley, CA • (530)272-2448
-20-
