3.5.2 Rock Filler Placement <br /> Placing of rock filler shall not begin until installation of the gabion baskets have been inspected <br /> and approved by the Engineer. Gabion baskets shall be filled with the specified rock material for <br /> the specific type of installation. Rock filler shall be placed carefully to avoid dislodging internal <br /> tie wires, creating voids, or causing bulging or crushing of the basket fabric. Rock shall not be <br /> dropped from a height greater than 2 feet. <br /> Baskets should be slightly overfilled, (approximately 1 inch) above the top edge to allow for <br /> settlement. Manual adjustment during the filling operation is required to minimize voids. <br /> 3.6 CRUSHED MISCELLANEOUS BASE (CMB) <br /> CMB shall be placed and compacted in accordance with the requirements of Section 26 of the <br /> Standard Specification. <br /> The base material shall be graded to the line and gradient shown on the Drawings, water added <br /> as required, and compacted to 95 percent of the maximum relative dry density, as determined by <br /> ASTM D 1557. <br /> 3.7 CHANNEL BRIDGE CROSSING <br /> Fabricate bridges per Detail 6 on Sheet 10 of the Construction Drawings. Place concrete <br /> foundation per Paragraph 3.4 of this Section. Secure concrete channel bridge to concrete <br /> foundation with '/2-inch diameter by 6-inch long red head anchors. Cut anchor stud and round <br /> stud with grinder, exercising care so as not to damage anchor nut function. <br /> 3.8 SAFETY LADDERS <br /> Install safety ladder per Detail 4 on Sheet l 1 of the Construction Drawings. <br /> 3.9 RUBBER FLAP GATE <br /> Install rubber flap gate on end of outlet pipe. Secure with stainless steel fasteners per <br /> Manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> 3.10 RIPRAP <br /> Riprap drainage improvements shall be constructed to the lines, grades, and depths indicated on <br /> the Drawings and in accordance with Section 72-2.03, Method B, of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 3.11 GRAVEL LOG ANCHOR <br /> Gravel log anchor shall be fabricated per Detail 7 on Sheet 11 of the Construction Drawings. <br /> PART 4 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> (Refer to Section 01200, MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES) <br /> END OF SECTION <br /> FORWARD LANDFILL 02645 <br /> 9 MISCELLANEOUS CIVIL IMPROVEMENTS <br />
