This letter is a follow-up to your letter of March 19, 2004 and to our meeting of April 29, 2004 at the Forward Landfill concerning the green waste collection program beginning in the City of Stockton June 1, 2004. As you are aware, the City of Stockton's two residential collection haulers will begin collection of the City'.s residential green waste starting June 1, 2004. By contract with the City the residential haulers are required to allow residents to include with their green waste, additional products such as solid dairy product, grain product and coffee grinds. Forward intends to provide processing services for this newly collected material. It is our intent to accept this material at our transfer facility located at Forward Landfill. The follow processing procedure will be preformed prior to applying this material as ADC at the landfill: • Upon tipping, the material will be visually inspected for the presence of food waste product contamination. • Through the use of a front loader and manual labor the material will be processed to remove any residential food waste products. • The transformed green matter (material that meets the requirements of ADC) will be transported to the grinding yard for further processing. • This final processed product will be used as ADC At no time will residential food material go directly to ADC processing prior to load checking and presorting the material.
