FORWARD LANDFILL
2008-2009 WINTERIZATION PLAN
1. Recent History
Forward opened WMU FU-06 on September 9, 2006. Forward has been
disposing Class II and Class III refuse in WMU FU-06 and the completed
cells to the west of WMU FU-06 since that time.
WMU FU-08 is expected to be completed construction in October 2008.
Once regulatory approval is obtained for the new cell, wastes will begin to
be disposed in WMU FU-08.
2. Reseeding and Erosion Control
An Annual Inspection of the vegetative cover has been completed. The
areas that were found to have a lack of necessary cover have been hydro-
seeded to control erosion. Presently all erosion has been addressed and
will be policed throughout the wet season.
3. Drainage
Non-contact water will be directed to three locations. The first location
(number one (1)) accumulates non-contact water from the current
Resource Recovery area and is located on the west corner of the
Resource Recovery Center, south of the south fork of Little Johns Creek.
The second location (number two (2)) services the current southern
portion of the Forward Landfill and is located at the southwest corner of
this area, north of the south fork of Little Johns Creek. The third non-
contact water location (number three (3)) is located at the southwest
corner of the northern portion of Forward Landfill, directly west of WMU
FU-03.
