Using fiber dimensions reported in the ATEML report, the concentrations of asbestos
were calculated using the equation presented on the last page of Appendix A. The
calculated asbestos concentrations are summarized below.
• Station A—0.0106 µg/M3Air
• Station B—0.0059 pg/m3Ail
• Station C—0.0036 µg/M%'
• Station E—0.0026 µg/M%j'
As presented above the calculated asbestos concentration was well below the threshold
value (action level) established for asbestos (5.0011 µg/m3Ail) and the highest
concentrations were measured in the background sample suggesting that the asbestos
concentrations measured during the sampling event were not the result of asbestos
landfilling operations.
CLOSURE
This letter report was prepared for the purpose of documenting asbestos monitoring at
the Forward Landfill during the second semiannual 2014 monitoring period.
