Sampling Equipment
Interim gas sampling probes were used to monitor suh=fice gases at the landfill
;
Each probes consists of a S-foot long, %®inc diameter stainless steel rimeter,
PIk, with 1,+,inch holes
gyred every 2 inches at Clic bottom 18 inch to allow for gasex'to migrate into the probes. A
pointed tip was welded to the end of the probe for better penetration.
ball valve and brass fitting were installed at the top of each probe to contain gas pressures and
facilitate instrument hook-up to the probe.T he valves were left closed except during monitoring
or kstrurnent reading. Each probe is tagged a brass plate and identified as "(3p_," ugb
"GP-10".
A GA-90 Landtcc -red Gas Analyzer was used to monitor methane
carbon.dioxide.(CO2),
and oxygen(OD levels at each probe location eanalyzer was calibrated for methane, COs_,and
Oz prior to use in the field-CAI ibration.togs are_included.in thisz-cport.
Gas Monitoring -
Ambient air m
ants of mcibont, oxygen, carbon dioxide; and barometric-p -were
taken at each gas probe logon.
